February's Farm Community Meeting - Simple Garden, Simple Life

Hey All!

This month's Farm Community Meeting will take place this Thursday night (Feb. 18) in Hoke Lodge.
We'll be eating a farm (not so fresh) meal! Opening up last fall's Saurkraut before the new cabbage comes in this spring. We'll also cook up some of our Camp Mitchell grown black beans. And there's always Kim Chi!

Anyone interested in our farm or farming/food in general, This is the place for you! We'll just be talking food, eating food, and watching a cool video about an inspirational lady gardener!

Farm Community Meeting in February

During our first ever farm community meeting in January, we watched a documentary about Japanese natural farming guru, Masanobu Fukuoka. His style of farming focuses on doing as little as possible, allowing nature's natural processes to produce their crops. Fukuoka does not till, weed, water, fertilize, or use pesticide. He simply sows seed, adds mulch, and harvests.

February's farm community meeting will focus on another gardening guru, Ruth Stout, from Kansas. Anyone is welcome to join our meeting, meal, and discussion of Ruth Stout and anything else we want to talk about!

Meeting date is Thursday, Feb. 18. We'll start our garden meal at 6:00 in Hoke Lodge at Camp Mitchell.

We'll be watching this video about Ruth Stout:
